Italian novelist Alberto Moravia’s novel ‘Agostino’ translated into Malayalam by C Govindakurup.

Thirteen year old Agostino is spending the summer at a Tuscan seaside resort with his beautiful widowed mother. The boy felt ignored and unloved, begins hanging around with a group of local gang, when her mother begins a flirtatious relationship with Renzo, a young man who works on the local boats.

This novel, showcasing the agony of adolescence, written in 1942 was rejected by fascist censors. Later, this hits the best seller chart even though it was not published until 1944.
