Movie Review: Hallo

HALLO is Rafi - Mecartin's first film with Mohanlal in the lead. Heroine is Parvathy Melton. As usual, Rafi - Mecartin devote the first half of the film entirely to humour. Comedy kings like Jagathy Sreekumar, Salim Kumar and Suraj Venjaramoodu alongwith Mohanlal do it perfectly. Others in the cast include Janardhanan, Madhu, Siddique, Jagadhish, Madhu Warrior, Keerikkadan Jose, Spadikam George, Beeman Reghu, Rizabava and Ganesh Kumar. Camera is cranked by Sanjeev Sankar. Alex Paul and Vayalar Sharatchandran Varma are in the music department.
WHAT'S IT
കാമുകിയുടെ മരണത്തിന് കാരണക്കാരായ വീട്ടുകാരെ ധിക്കരിച്ച് മുഴുവന് സമയവും മദ്യപിച്ചു നടക്കുന്ന അഡ്വക്കേറ്റ് ശിവരാമനാണ് നായകന്. യാദൃശ്ചികമായി ശിവരാമന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിലേക്ക് മറ്റൊരു പെണ്ക്കുട്ടി അഭയം ചോദിച്ച് കടന്നുവരുന്നു. ശിവരാമന് ആ ‘കേസ് ’ ഏറ്റെടുക്കുന്നതോടെ കഥ പുതിയൊരു വഴിത്തിരിവിലെത്തുന്നു. മിത്രങ്ങള് നിറഞ്ഞ അങ്കത്തട്ടില് യഥാര്ഥ ശത്രുവാരെന്ന് അറിയാന് ശിവരാമന് ഏറെ കഷ്ടപ്പെടേണ്ടി വരുന്നു.
PLUSES
നിറയെ തമാശകളുള്ള, മറ്റൊരു കാര്ണിവല് പടം. മോഹന്ലാലിന്റെ പ്രകടനം അതിഗംഭീരം; പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് നൃത്തരംഗങ്ങളിലും ഹാസ്യരംഗങ്ങളിലും. ജഗതിയും സലിം കുമാറുമൊക്കെ ചിരി വാരി വിതറിക്കൊണ്ട് ഒപ്പമുണ്ട്. സിദ്ദിഖിന്റെ വേഷപ്പകര്ച്ചയും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നതാണ്. ലാല് നൃത്തം വയ്ക്കുന്ന ‘കടുകിട്ടു വറുത്തൊരു’ എന്ന പാട്ട് ആരാധകരെ തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുത്തും.
MINUSES
ചിത്രത്തിന്റെ ക്ലൈമാക്സ് രംഗങ്ങളുടെ നീളം കുറച്ചധികമായി. ഒന്നു ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചിരുന്നെങ്കില് രണ്ടാം പകുതി കാല് ഭാഗത്തോളം കുറയ്ക്കാമായിരുന്നു. കഥയുടെ സസ്പെസ് അഴിക്കുന്നത് ഒട്ടും സിനിമാറ്റിക്കല്ലാതെ യാണ്. പാര്വതി മില്റ്റണ് കഥാപാത്രത്തിനനുസരിച്ച് തിളങ്ങാനായില്ല. ഏച്ചു കെട്ടിയതുപോലുള്ള ഒരു ഗാനം (ശിവരാമന്റെ വീട്ടില് അഭയാര്ഥിയായി എത്തിയ നായിക ആടിപ്പാടുന്നത്) ഒഴിവാക്കാമായിരുന്നു.
VERDICT
ഹായ് ബായ് ഹലോ! തല മറിഞ്ഞു ചിരിക്കാം.

Mohanlal's best comedy performance in the recent times...Doesn't make you yawn...
Hello is the no.1 entertainment movie in the july release.Mohanlal's comedy is great.No film can break hallo because of its lal magic.Jagathi,Salim and Suraj done well job.The film proves that lal is the king of comedy.
HALLO AND ARABIKKATHA R THE BEST AMONG JULY RELEASE MOVIES.
It is a hit but just an average movie.Many scenes have no logic at all...many unwanted scenes are there to..Climax is also repeating one
average movie,will stand same with mission 90 days.thats all,but arabikatha is a class movie,

poor.. but mohanlal looks good
hallo is an impressive movie in a sense that it has some mohanlal's best comedy within a 10 year span.Mohanlal was simply superb.His easiness,smile etc are exploited at least in a small order.But the story lacks a good craft.
