Mahasamudram, Dr. S. Janardhanan's maiden movie, is the story of Isahak, a fisherman and his heartthrob Devi. Mohanlal portrays Isahak and his wife's role is played by Tamil actress Laila. Innocent plays Isahak's insane father. Jagathy Sreekumar, Rajan P. Dev, Siddique, Biju Menon, Riza Bava, Sai Kumar, Rahman, Indrans, M.R. Gopakumar, Jagadish, T.P. Madhavan etc. are there before the camera. Songs are penned by Kaithapram and B.R. Prasad and the music is by M. Jayachandran.

കടലിന്റെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തിലുള്ള സിനിമ. രണ്ടു തുറകള് തമ്മിലുള്ള വൈരവും അത് നായകനായ ഇസഹാക്കിന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിലുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന ചലനങ്ങളുമാണ് മഹാസമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ മുഖ്യപ്രമേയം.

രാത്രിയുടെ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില് മനോഹരമായ ചില രംഗങ്ങളുണ്ട്. ഹൃദയസ്പര്ശിയായ ഏതാനും ഗാനങ്ങളും.
MINUSES
മോഹന്ലാല് എന്ന അതുല്യനടന്റെ കഴിവുകളെ തീരെ ഉപയോഗിക്കാത്ത സിനിമ. കടലില് പോകുന്ന സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ ജീവിതം പകര്ത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നതില് ഒരു പൂര്ണതയില്ലായ്മയുണ്ട്. സംഭാഷണശൈലി മിക്കയിടത്തും പാളിപ്പോയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഹൃദ്യമായ സംഭവങ്ങള് പോലും ഹൃദയസ്പര്ശിയായി ചിത്രീകരിക്കാന് കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല.
VERDICT
പണവും സമയവും ധാരാളമുണ്ടെങ്കില് കാണാവുന്ന സിനിമ.

VERDICT

You have to have something in your head to enjoy good films.Viewers like the above said anonymous are tha bane of malayalam industry.They wont allow good films to come and if at all someone attempts they thwart it by useless comments
