Keerthichakra, another story of the Indian armed forces directed by a real army man, Major Ravi. Real time army personnel play some roles in the film. And it was shot at Kashmir. Mohanlal plays the role of Major Mahadevan, who leads a group of anti-terrorism commandos. He is accompanied by Tamil actor Jeeva, Lakshmi Gopalaswami, Gopika, Biju Menon, Shammy Thilakan etc. Music is by Joshwa Sreedhar and camera is by Thiru.
WHAT'S IT
കശ്മീരില് ഭീകരപ്രവര്ത്തനം നടത്തുന്നവരെ നേരിടാന് നിയോഗിക്കപ്പെട്ട മേജര് മഹാദേവന് എന്ന സൈനികോദ്യോഗസ്ഥന്റെയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ കീഴിലുള്ള കമന്ഡോകളുടെയും ജീവിതം. ജീവിതം എന്നു പറയുമ്പോള് നമ്മുടെയൊക്കെ ജീവിതം പോലെയെന്നു കരുതരുത്. തോക്കിന്റെ മുന്നിലും പിന്നിലുമായുള്ള ജീവിതമേയുള്ളു അവര്ക്ക്. ശാന്തമായ സ്വകാര്യജീവിതം സ്വപ്നം പോലെ ഇടയ്ക്കൊന്നു മിന്നിക്കയറി പോകുന്നതേയുള്ളു.
PLUSES
കാഴ്ചയ്ക്കു ശേഷം ഇത്ര ഹൃദയസ്പര്ശിയായ, എന്നാല് മെലോഡ്രാമയുടെ അതിപ്രസരമില്ലാത്ത- തീരെയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുകൂടാ - സിനിമ മലയാളത്തില് ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല. മോശമല്ലാത്തൊരു ചെറുകഥയുടെ ഒതുക്കവും ഇഴയടുപ്പവുമുള്ള കഥ/ തിരക്കഥ. മോഹന്ലാലിന്റെ പ്രായത്തിനും രൂപത്തിനും യോജിച്ച കഥാപാത്രം. സാധാരണ സൈനികസിനിമകളിലെ ‘സിനിമാവല്കരണം’ ഒഴിവാക്കി, മിലിറ്ററി ഓപറേഷനുകള് കൃത്യതയോടെ ചിത്രീകരിച്ചിരിക്കാന് സംവിധായകന്റെ സൈനികപരിചയം തുണച്ചു.
MINUSES
എന്തുകൊണ്ട് ഭീകരപ്രവര്ത്തനം എന്നതിന് അതിലളിതമായ ഒരു ഉത്തരം കീര്ത്തിചക്ര മുന്നോട്ടു വയ്ക്കുന്നു. ശ്വേതാ മേനോന് അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യാവകാശപ്രവര്ത്തകയുടെ കഥാപാത്രത്തിനും ഒപ്പം നടക്കുന്ന പെണ്ണിനും ഈ സിനിമയിലെന്താണ് ജോലി എന്ന് എത്ര ആലോചിച്ചിട്ടും പിടി കിട്ടുന്നില്ല.
VERDICT
തീര്ച്ചയായും കാണേണ്ട സിനിമ.

very good film! worth watching!
it's more a docufiction than a feature film. still, worth viewing.
good film . first half is excellent
but second half is not up to the expectation. Also there is a trial
for projecting jeeva more than mohanlal
because jeeva is producer's son

A very boring movie. no change in the story, just going to some places and killing, that was not what i expected. the movie is very dissapointing but shows out the bravery and struggles of army men.

Acting of Mohanlal cannot br considerd as good, but acting of jeeva is good.

As An INDIAN I am Proud to see such films. Some more effects can be accomplised but Our Budget did not allow that!!!
